Myrtle Marie Gilles, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at Heartland Care and Rehab in Cape Girardeau. She was born Feb. 15, 1922, at Perkins, Mo., daughter of Loyd and Leona L. Marcus Armstrong. She and Aaron L. Gilles were married Sept. 29, 1937 at Benton, Mo. He died June 7, 1987. She was a member of Hobbs Chapel Methodist Church...

Myrtle Marie Gilles, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at Heartland Care and Rehab in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 15, 1922, at Perkins, Mo., daughter of Loyd and Leona L. Marcus Armstrong.

She and Aaron L. Gilles were married Sept. 29, 1937 at Benton, Mo. He died June 7, 1987. She was a member of Hobbs Chapel Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Jerry L. Gilles of Cape Girardeau; one brother, L. Frank Armstrong of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two sisters, Della Marcella Strop of Cape Girardeau and Della Myers of Sedgewickville, Mo.; four grandchildren; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Fords & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. James Hartmann and Anthony Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
