Taylor is the daughter of John and Deena Allen of Jackson; granddaughter of Harry and Marie Allen of Cape Girardeau and the late Catherine and Clyde Buerck of Perryville, Mo.

The 6-year-old had donated her hair to the organization two years ago. Tangle's Hair Salon stylist Ruby Voshage gave Taylor her new style. Taylor said, "I like to give kids that are sick new hair so they can have pigtails. And I wanted my hair short for my kindergarten graduation and for swimming."
