Enter the Matrix does have a fatal flaw. The entire game looks and feels unfinished. It's as if it was rushed through production to coincide with the release of the movie.

Gameplay is flawed but sound on some levels. The varying types of levels help to keep the hand-to-hand from getting old. Enter the Matrix tries to push the envelope abut ultimately fails. It's hard to pin down all the flaws of Enter the Matrix because it's so unfinished. It's more like a beta version than a final game. The video is sub par, the game prompts you to save every five minutes, and the level design is less than perfect. At times the landscape itself falls prey to the rushed feel. While the matrix was released for all platforms and even a PC version, all have their own set of challenges. The only redeeming hope is that there will be a patch for PC versions. Although the platforms do have better controls than the PC.

Enter the Matrix does have some cool features. It has all the things one would expect a matrix game, i.e., bullet time and various martial arts moves. It also has a new focus feature. It helps to explain and allow some of the things those with a free mind can do. Also included is a Hacking feature. For those who explore it, it not only lets you input cheats, but it allows for a feel of hacking the game through a dos prompt.

Enter the Matrix is one of those games fans will want and make excuses for, everyone else will criticize its flaws. Enter the Matrix winds up being a decent game in spite of it unfinished qualities. Fans of the Matrix universe will end up buying it anyway. (Especially anyone buying the Animatrix DVD) The extras and the additional plot explanations make it worth it. Besides if you're a fan you probably already have one.
