Joanna Lee

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Joanna Lee, 78, of Sikeston died Friday, July 15, 2005, at the home of a daughter in Scott City.

She was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Houston, Ark., daughter of Roy J. and Myrtle Lott Herndon. She and Meredith Lee were married Sept. 3, 1955, in Perryville. He died March 8, 2002.

Lee had been a bookkeeper and secretary. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Business and Professional Women, Foster Grandparents Program, and Missouri Delta Medical Center Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Gregory Lee of Murray, Ky., Terry Herndon of Sikeston; a daughter, Suzanne Gibbs of Scott City; a sister, Joyce Hedge of Kansas City, Kan.; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 9 a.m. Monday until time of service.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
