It was great to see the article about the riverboats stopping and the impact on our community. I am sorry that there was so much in the article about what isn't happening: the loss of stops by the boats. My brother and his grandson are on the Mississippi Queen. He called me from the stop in Paducah, Ky., and said that even though the boat was docked, none of the downtown businesses were opening early. Our downtown did a great job to meet the people from the boat, and even the Red House Interpretive Center was open for visitors. Way to go, Cape Girardeau.
