Karen L. New, 48, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 15, 1957, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Robert and Lelia Crader Huffman. Karen worked 10 years as a CNA at Southeast Missouri Hospital. Karen L. New, 48, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 15, 1957, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Robert and Lelia Crader Huffman.

Karen worked 10 years as a CNA at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She then became disabled, and did volunteer work at Jackson Boarding Home. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Jackson.

Loving survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Nelly New of Chicago; a granddaughter, Taylor New; a brother, Danny Huffman and wife Karla of Jackson; three sisters, Carolyn Reed and Sharon Huffman of Jackson, Beverly Holloway and husband Jim of Scott City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the Church of Christ on Shawnee Boulevard.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the church, with Bryan McAlister officiating.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Church of Christ or Baby Taylor New Trust Fund.
