Everybody's a critic: 'The Dukes of Hazzard'

Twenty years have slipped by since "The Dukes of Hazzard" ended its TV run in 1985. Now, I haven't seen every single "Dukes of Hazzard" TV episode, but I'm pretty sure interrupted sex scenes and partial nudity never mixed it up onscreen like this remake did -- and that's allowing for the fact that the Dukes weren't exactly saints back then, either.

So, the names may be the same, but that's about it as "The Dukes of Hazzard" officially goes to the bank for the last little bit of goodwill and credibility it owns.

Of course, Bo, Luke, Daisy, Uncle Jesse, Cooter, Rosco and Boss Hogg have lived on through the marketing miracle of syndication ever since, but they ain't never done much harm to nobody ... until now. I would strongly recommend that true-blue Dukes fans pass this one up. As usual, they didn't do the original any justice.

Not even Boss Hogg would want to punish the Duke boys as much as this movie does.

I definitely enjoyed this movie. The stunt driving done by the Duke boys was awesome to watch.

Daisy was an added pleasure to watch and a nice touch. The story was easy to follow and definitely held my attention. It was your usual fight between good and evil and, like most of today's films, good triumphs over evil in the end.

Not having seen much of the original show except in an occasional rerun, I didn't have any trouble comparing the movie with the original. I would highly recommend this flick to most ages. I would only offer one word of caution: Don't try these driving stunts. Leave them to the professionals.

If you like a movie with a lot of fast moving action, I would definitely recommend this one.

The Duke boys live up to their reputation. Also, the bad language is kept to a bare minimum. Throughout the entire movie you are kept glued to your seat.

"The Dukes of Hazzard" also keeps your undivided attention. Those of us who grew up watching the original "Dukes of Hazzard" will definitely not be disappointed by this version. A lot of the same tricks, stunts and situations are present in this movie.

The story line is easy to follow and well done. It's the usual battle between the good guys (the Dukes) and the villain (Boss Hogg). The only advice I would offer is that no young man tries these stunts at home. The original cast members were great and the new cast does an excellent job.
