Melvin Schremp

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Melvin J. Schremp, 76, of Perryville died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at his home.

He was born Feb. 12, 1929, in Perry County, Mo., son of Clarence R. and Adel E. Zahner Schremp. He and Dorotha Z. Brown were married Feb. 19, 1949.

Schremp retired as an assembler at Chrysler. He was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer, and Perryville Elks Lodge 2701.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Joyce Ganahl of Maryland Heights, Mo.; two sons, Michael and Clifford Schremp of St. Mary, Mo.; three brothers, Leland and Russell Schremp of Perryville, Dale Schremp of St. Mary; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons and a daughter.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 3 to 8 p.m. today, and Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. An Elks wake will be held at 7 tonight, and the rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Christ the Savior Church, with the Rev. Felipe Martinez officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
