Six-year-old Deanna's list includes a Real Meal oven, Hershey S'mores maker and a Barbie coat size 6. Adelaide, 11, would like the same oven and Hershey toy and a Now 19 CD. Connor, 9, would be happiest with the new Harry Potter book and Game Boy games.

Christmas for the Elderly

Situations for elderly folks are complicated because of limited incomes and multiple health problems. Gift certificates to area pharmacies or Wal-Mart are always appreciated because they give them the freedom of selecting what need is greatest.

Donations can be dropped off at the Southeast Missourian offices. Monetary donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 4, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63702-0004.

Staying warm in the frigid temperatures of winter can be accomplished with the help of electric or regular blankets, space heaters, area and throw rugs, slippers, coats, socks, sweaters and gloves. Without heat these items can make a huge difference for these folks struggling to get by.

If you'd like to contribute to helping these folks to keep their homes clean, supplies typically requested are paper towels, glass, kitchen, bathroom and toilet bowl cleaners.
