One day after the Central boys basketball team missed 10-of-19 free throws in a loss to Marquette, the Tigers went 22-for-30 from the line to help beat host Northwest 72-53 in the third-place game at the Mobil On the Run Classic in Cedar Hill, Mo.

Central, which has won three of its last four games, was led by sophomore Jajuan Bell, who scored 22 points and hit eight of eight free throws.

Jeremy Kimble had 11 points for Central (3-3) and Darnell Wilks added 10.

Bell and Wilks were selected to the all-tournament team. Wilks set the 2-year-old tournament's single-game record with a 33-point game earlier in the event and also set the overall points record (62 in three games).

The Tigers have played their first six games on the road and will play their home opener Friday against Farmington.

Notre Dame and Central finished 11th and 12th, respectively, out of 13 teams at the Marquette Relays. The Bulldogs finished with 144 points, just ahead of Central at 140. Lafayette won the event with 311 points.
