Ruby Irene McLain, 89, of Scott City died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 28, 1916, in Redford, Mo., daughter of Richard and Sarah Stout Akins. She and Glenn Monroe McLain were married Sept. 18, 1937, at Ink, Mo. He died Sept. 14, 1998.
Mrs. McLain was a member of Illmo Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Willard Akins of Ellington, Mo.; two sisters, Agnes Bowles of Ellington, Lora Mae Miller of Centerville, Mo.; a granddaughter, Cheri Vetter of Benton, Mo.; a grandson, Jerry Wright Jr. of Mooresville, N.C.; a son-in-law, Jerry Wright of Commerce, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Kristen Vetter of Benton, Joshua and Jobeth Wright of Mooresville; and a special friend, Scott Morton of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenna Wright, June 23, 2003; and four brothers, Wilbur, Floyd, Donald and Randall Akins.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Bell officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
