Wrapped in a $10 bill, the $50 Canadian coin was found Wednesday. It contains 1 ounce of gold, which these days is worth more than $500.

Brandenburg plans to sell the coin, along with another coin someone dropped in a kettle in 2001.

The kettle campaign is $8,200 away from meeting its $44,100 goal, and Brandenburg hopes to be done by Christmas.
