Tom Finley

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Tom Finley, 87, of Charleston died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

He was born June 5, 1918, in Mountain Home, Ark., son of Harry and Ada Cox Finley. He and Ruby Nell McMillen were married Dec. 21, 1940. She died March 17, 1993.

Finley lived in Charleston most of his life where he worked in farming and construction.

Survivors include five sons, Troy Smith of Benton, Mo., James Finley of Portageville, Mo., Bobby Finley of Hayti, Mo., Billy Finley of Bertrand, Mo., Donnie Finley of Cave City, Ark.; seven daughters, Joann Broussard of Texas, Martha Shankle of Charleston, Rita Jarvis of Milliton, Fla., Gloria Ferguson of Clarksville, Tenn., Debbie Meyer and Linda Henderson of Vienna, Ill., Patricia Traughber of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Dallas Finley of Charleston; a number of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from noon until service time today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ed Carter officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
