A convicted felon from Cape Girardeau will spend more than six years in a federal prison for having a firearm in his possession, the U.S. Attorney's office announced. Terrance L. Anderson, 29, was sentenced to 77 months in prison Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Rodney Sippel. Two firearms were discovered at Anderson's College Street residence when his home was raided on Sept. 6, 2004. At the time of the raid, Anderson was on probation for burglary and possession of a sawed-off shotgun, according to court documents. As a result of the raid, he was charged with felony drug possession in state court. That charge was reduced to a misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia, but his probation was revoked on the two earlier charges and he was sentenced to four years in state prison.
