MoDOT workshop to offer information on funds

SIKESTON, Mo. -- The southeast district of Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an informational workshop on March 15 for those interested in applying for transportation enhancement funds. The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to noon in the district office at 2675 N. Main St. in Sikeston. Transportation enhancement funds are federal funds available to local public agencies for projects such as constructing sidewalks, bike lanes and converting abandoned railroad rights of way to trails. The program may also be used to restore historic transportation buildings, renovating streetscapes, providing transportation museums or scenic beautification.
