Jackson city officials have announced a policy change in its solid waste collection program relative to bulky rubbish and special pick-ups. Effective immediately, the city will offer residential customers, who request bulky and special pick-ups, the opportunity to use two cubic yard Dumpsters at their homes. This alternative would be used by customers wishing to dispose of large amounts of trash at one time. Customers can contact the city to request that a Dumpster be delivered to their curbside for a $30 fee. The Dumpster will be collected upon request of the customer or the following fifth day of use. If multiple trips to unload the Dumpster are necessary for larger pick-ups, the customer will be charged an additional fee of $30 per trip.
