Redhawks fall to 1-1 in OVC with loss at home to Racers

~ Souheast next plays in Florida on Monday.

The Southeast Missouri State women's tennis team suffered its first Ohio Valley Conference loss of the season Wednesday, as visiting Murray State posted a 5-2 win.

Southeast (5-6, 1-1 OVC) received victories from Drew Kristal at No. 2 singles and Julia Masotti at No. 3 singles.

Masotti improved to 8-3 in singles, the best record among the Redhawks.

"It was a good, competitive match, against a team that is traditionally one of the best in the OVC," Southeast coach Jay Pacelli said. "Drew and Julia played some of their best tennis of the year. Julia has been playing well."

The Racers are 4-5 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

Southeast plays Monday at Florida Southern and Tuesday at Tampa.
