KANSAS CITY, Mo.-- The Kansas City Royals put center fielder Shane Costa on the 15-day disabled list Saturday and called up former Southeast Missouri State standout Kerry Robinson.

Robinson started Saturday in center field against the Oakland Athletics and went 2-for-2 in the first inning but the game was postponed by rain.

Costa was placed on the DL with a strained left hamstring, leaving them without their top two players at the position. Costa was the backup to David DeJesus, who also is out with a strained left hamstring.

Robinson was leading Omaha with a .367 batting average through 20 games. He also led the team in stolen bases with seven in 10 attempts. He had 12 RBIs and a team-best 18 runs scored.
