CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Tyler Joseph Glaus, 18, of Chaffee died Friday, May 5, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center from injuries sustained in a work-related tractor accident.

He was born Oct. 9, 1987 at Cape Girardeau, son of Stacey Gerard and Carla Ann Berghoff Glaus.

Tyler was a senior at Notre Dame Regional High School and attended the automotive technology class at the Career and Technology Center where he was a member of Skills USA-VICA. He was an honor student all through high school. Tyler was just recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. His plans were to attend Southeast Missouri State University in the fall, majoring in polytechnics. Tyler was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish with his dad, uncles and cousins. He enjoyed working on cars and small engines and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. Tyler was a joy to be with and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his parents; a sister, Alecia Glaus of the home; his girlfriend, Stephanie Kern of Chaffee; maternal grandparents, Leo and Hilda Berghoff of Kelso; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Glaus of Chaffee; maternal great-grandmother, Lorena Berghoff of Scott City, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lary Glaus.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Notre Dame Regional High School. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.

The resurrection Mass for Tyler will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Notre Dame Regional High School gymnasium with Father Patrick Nwokoye as the celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso, Mo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Tyler Glaus Scholarship Fund at Notre Dame.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
