The Cape Girardeau Public Library has announced its events calendar for this month.

All programs are in the Hirsch Community Room and are free and open to the public.

* 6 to 8 p.m. May 19 and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 20, annual spring book sale. Friends of the Cape Girardeau Public Library may attend the preview hour from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday. You may join the friends group at the door for a minimum of $15.

* 7 p.m. May 23, the German film, "The Forest for the Trees" will be shown. Film is suggested for ages 17 and over. Runnng time is approximately 90 minutes.

* 7 p.m. May 30, book discussion group of "Pope Joan" by Donna Cross. The work is a historical fiction set in the Middle Ages.
