The Council of Garden Clubs of Cape Girardeau has named the winners of the "A Child's Garden of Verses Spring Flower Show" recently held at Centenary United Methodist Church. They were:

Division one

  • Marlene Osburn, artistic design, class one "Owl and Pussycat"

* Duane Foster, tri-color, class two "Princess and the Pea"

* Edna Ruth Fisher, class three "Alice in Wonderland"

* Margaret Lents, class four "Brementown Musicians"

* Charlyn Robinson, designer's choice, class five "Sleeping Beauty"

* Charlene Back, class six "Nightingale"

* Charlene Back, class seven "Emperor's New Clothes"

The sweepstakes award for horticulture went to Edna Ruth Fisher, and the sweepstakes award for design went to Charlene Back.
