Leonard Sachse

Leonard Sachse Jr., 79, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 30, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 21, 1927, in Gordonville, son of Leonard and Alice Cox Sachse.

Sachse had formerly worked at Cape Girardeau Fire Department, was a self-employed home builder, and retired as office manager at Huckstep Auto Body.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a sister, Patsy Edmunds of Crete, Ill.

Graveside service was held Monday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with the Rev. Raymond McAfee officiating.

McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau was in charge of arrangements.
