The Cape Girardeau Senior Babe Ruth team picked up two complete-game pitching performances Thursday night at Capaha Field in a doubleheader sweep of Chaffee.

After Anthony Wulfers' five-hitter in Cape Girardeau's 9-3 opening win, Garrett Stevens followed with a four-hitter in the nightcap, a 6-2 decision.

The wins brought Cape close to .500 at 9-10 and improved their recent streak to six wins in its last seven games.

"I've got all my kids back," Cape coach Alan Wengert said, referring to the end of vacation-related absences. "It makes a big difference when your playing with your whole team."

Cape has a doubleheader at Portageville on Sunday, then plays two more Monday at league-leading Charleston.

The name of the game Thursday was pitching for Cape, which had split a twinbill at Chaffee on June 25.
