Senior Missouri State senior punter David Simonhoff has been named to another NCAA Division I-AA preseason All-America first team.

The latest group to recognize Simonhoff is I-AA.org. Earlier, he was honored by The Sports Network.

Simonhoff was one of three players to repeat as a first-team pick. He joins Eastern Washington tackle Rocky Hanni and James Madison safety Tony LeZotte.

Simonhoff was a first team 2005 All-America selection by the American Football Coaches Association after he averaged 42.8 yards per punt to lead the Ohio Valley Conference for the second straight season.

In 2004, Simonhoff was a second team All-America pick after averaging 46 yards per punt. He ranked second nationally and established new Southeast and OVC single season records.

Last season, Simonhoff had 17 punts of 50 yards or further with a long of 80 yards. For his Southeast career, he has seven punts of over 70 yards, with a career long of 83 yards.

Simonhoff and his Southeast teammates will report for fall camp on August 6, with practice beginning the following day. The Redhawks open the season Sept. 2 at Austin Peay, with the first home game Sept. 9 against Missouri-Rolla.
