Lamplighters FCE to hold celebration at regional library

Everyone is invited to a special celebration from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 9 at the Riverside Regional Library in Jackson, hosted by the Cape Girardeau County Lamplighters Family and Community Education Club. State Rep. Scott Lipke will be among the special guests. Refreshments will be served.

The Lamplighters FCE Club applied for and received $500 from a HEED fund grant given by University of Missouri Extension this year and added $600 from their budget to create the "Look! Listen! I Can Read This Book!" grant project. The club donated $1,100 to the library for purchase of 170 new easy-reader books.

FCE is associated with the Missouri Outreach and Extension program in a cooperative effort to provide programs and assistance that promote personal growth and improvement in the quality of family and community living through continuing education, leadership development and community action.
