Meyr graduates from St. Louis University; Extra Credit; Egyption school recognized by state

Rees receives Imagine America scholarship

Kyle Rees, a recent graduate of Jackson High School, has received a scholarship from the Imagine America Foundation. Rees will attend ITT Technical Institute in Arnold, Mo., to study computer network systems.

Meyr graduates from St. Louis University

Elizabeth Meyr, daughter of H.W. and Dianne Meyr of Cape Girardeau, recently graduated from St. Louis University with a master's degree in communication with an emphasis in research.

Extra Credit

Egyption school recognized by state

Egyptian Elementary School in Tamms, Ill., has been recognized as an Illinois Honor School for the 2004-2005 school year by the Illinois State Board of Education and Northern Illinois University.

Egyptian Elementary School was honored as a Spotlight School.

The honor recognizes high poverty, high performing schools where at least 50 percent of the students are low income and at least 60 percent of students meet or exceed standards on state tests.
