MCCLURE, Ill. -- Walter Alfred Reimann, 92, of McClure died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 23, 1914, in Egypt Mills, son of Charles and Dorothea Gerlach Reimann. He and Mary E. Wiley Reimann were married May 6, 1939 in Chaffee, Missouri.

He was a 1934 graduate of Central High School, where he played football, basketball and wrestled.

He served in the National Guard.

Mr. Reimann was an electrician with Missouri Utilities and Southwestern Bell. He farmed in McClure from 1947 until retiring in 1985. He also served as commissioner of McClure Drainage District from 1960 to 1985. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church 61 years.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald Reimann and wife Connie of Sikeston, Mo., Gary Reimann and wife Laura of Thebes, Ill., Bruce Reimann and wife, Beth of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Ernest Reimann of Egypt Mills; a sister, Erma Betlock of St. Louis; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home today from 4 to 8 p.m.

The funeral will be at Trinity Lutheran Church Wednesday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Douglas C. Breite officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery at McClure.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran School Building Fund.
