Arts council sponsors sidewalk art at COR

The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will sponsor sidewalk art at the City of Roses Music Festival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in downtown Cape Girardeau on Water Street. There will be an area open to the general public, or a space can be reserved for $1. There will also be a contest for the best sidewalk drawing. Archaeology Day event at nature center

The Southeast Missouri Regional Museum, in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Conservation, will celebrate Archaeology Day and National Hunting and Fishing Day Saturday with a program called "Connecting People with the Land." The program will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Conservation Campus Nature Center in Cape County Park North and will feature hands-on archaeology activities and the Southeast Explorer Mobile Museum. Glenn Miller Orchestra at Three Rivers center

Notre Dame to present 'The Mouse Trap'

Notre Dame Regional High School will present its production of Agatha Christie's "The Mouse Trap" at 7 p.m. Nov. 2 and 3 at the Notre Dame Cafetorium. "The Mouse Trap" began its run in London in 1952 and is still running there today, making it the longest running play in existence. The play centers on the murder of a farmer's wife and the search for her killer. For more information on the performance, call 335-6772.

Arts council holds annual meeting Oct. 7

The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri invites the public to its annual "Evening with the Arts" on Oct. 7 starting at 5 p.m. at Dempster Hall on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University. Following the dinner, those present will attend the university production of "Noises Off." The arts council's annual Dingeldein Award and Friend of the Arts Award winners will be announced at intermission. For more information on the annual event, call the arts council at 334-9233.

'Radio Lab' to air on Southeast Public Radio

Southeast Public Radio, 90.9 FM, will air the program "Radio Lab," a show that experiments with sound and style to fuse science with culture and information to create a sound like music.
