The Southeast Missouri State volleyball team had to settle for a split during its road trip to Kentucky.

After sweeping defending Ohio Valley Conference co-champion Eastern Kentucky Friday night, the Redhawks suffered a four-game loss to Morehead State on Saturday.

Morehead State won 21-30, 30-26, 32-30, 30-16.

Jessica Koeper had a double-double for the Redhawks (8-9, 2-2 OVC) with 15 kills and 19 digs.

Also reaching double figures in kills for Southeast were Brenna Schlader with 13 and Brittany Hastings with 12. Schlader added eight blocks.

Molly Davis led the way in digs with 23. Taylor Harbster added 14 and Alyssa Aston had 10. Setter Jamie Baumstark dished out 45 assists.

Laura Cox powered home 23 digs to pace the Eagles (14-6, 4-0).

Southeast hosts Eastern Illinois on Wednesday.

Redhawks 9th in Louisville

Southeast Missouri State sophomore Kevin McNab had the top Redhawks finish with a 27th-place showing at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday in Louisville, Ky.

McNab covered the 8-kilometer course in 25 minutes, 3.39 seconds to help the Redhawks place ninth out of 36 teams. Chris Herren (66th), Dustin Davis (76th), Brandon Karcher (81st) and Danny Stults (151st) rounded out Southeast's top five.

Juli Koenegestein led Southeast's women in 56th. The Redhawks finished 26th of 31 teams.

Men -- 27. Kevin McNab 25:03.93, 66. Chris Herren 25:49.75, 76. Dustin Davis 25:58.53, 91. Brandon Karcher 26:01.63, 151. Danny Stults 26:40.65

Women -- 56. Juli Koenegstein 19:01.48, 109. Brittni Peck 19:40.60, 146. Sarah Verelst 20:01.53, 196. Stephanie Harres 20:44.97, 203. Sarah Johnson 20:54.66
