Robert M. "Bob" Kinder, 67, of Burfordville passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, at his home.

Bob was born June 22, 1939, in Peoria, Ill., son of the late Lorenzo A. and Marie Miller Kinder. He and Shirley Kester were married May 19, 1962, in Friedheim, Mo.

Bob was a 1957 graduate of Jackson High School. He especially enjoyed membership in FFA under the direction of Mr. Hughes Davault and was active in Scouting. He was a PFC in the Missouri National Guard unit in Jackson from 1956 to 1962.

He was a lifelong farmer, concentrating in Hereford cattle. He also worked 37 years as a truck driver for Straightway Service in Jackson, Shell Feed in Marble Hill, Mo., C&G Trucking in Fruitland, McLane Trucking in Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Byron L. Lang Trucking, retiring in 2004.

An avid supporter of the American Red Cross, Bob had received recognition for his participation in their blood drives.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Loving survivors include his wife of 44 years; two sons, Rodney (Vickie) Kinder of Jackson, Timothy (Crystal) Kinder of Burfordville; two daughters, Cynthia (Mike) Mirly of Jackson, Deborah (Aaron) Abernathy of Jackson; and nine grandchildren, Tyler, Gage, Landon, and Breanna Kinder, Ryan, Ashley and Deanna Mirly, Zachary and Megan Abernathy.

Also surviving is his father-in-law, Albert Kester of Cape Girardeau; brother-in-law Jerry Kester of Perryville, Mo.; and nephew Jerry Dean Kester of St. Louis.

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
