Choi leads field by a shot at Chrysler

K.J. Choi shot a 5-under 66 for a one-shot lead Friday in the Chrysler Championship.

Choi was at 8-under 134 and led Els (66), Jonathan Byrd (67) and Brian Gay (71) by one shot.

The Chrysler Championshipin Palm Harbor, Fla., is the final full-field event of the year on the PGA Tour.

Champions Tour

Tom Kite eagled the par-4 11th hole for the second straight round and finished with a 4-under 68 to take a one-stroke lead over Jay Haas and Jim Thorpe in the Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Sonoma, Calif.

European LPGA Tour

Annika Sorenstam shot a 4-under 68 to increase her lead to five strokes after the second round of the Ladies European Tour's season-ending Dubai Ladies Masters in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Woods to skip final event

Tiger Woods is skipping the Tour Championship next week for the first time in his career, saying he was mentally and physically tired from a hectic stretch through the Ryder Cup.
