Joseph Charles Isaac, 88, of Jackson died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at his residence in Jackson.

He was born March 24, 1918, in Wise County, Va., the son of Joseph and Hannah Wakin Isaac. He and Alice Fisher were married on July 1, 1950, in Jackson, Tenn., and she survives.

Isaac was employed at the Brown Shoe Company for 37 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was also a member of the VFW 3838, American Legion Post 63 and Knights of Columbus Council 6405.

Survivors include one son, Dr. Joseph Benton Isaac and wife, Pam, of Rolla, Mo.; three daughters, Ann Knight and husband, David, of Cape Girardeau, Carol Mehrle and husband, Chris, of Caruthersville and Jane Killian of Franklin, Tenn.; one brother, George Isaac of Lexington, Tenn. and six grandchildren, Alex and Elizabeth Knight of Cape Girardeau, Megan and Bob Mehrle of Caruthersville and Michael and Anthony Isaac of Rolla.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Elias Isaac and one sister, Nadine Arrington.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home with parish prayers at 7 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus service.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Msgr. Ed Eftink officiating. Burial will be at the Cape County Memorial Park with military rites.
