First the Southeast Missouri State University women's soccer team clinched the Ohio Valley Conference title Sunday, which guaranteed it a place in the NCAA tournament for the first time ever.

And the best part was that the team would be making its first NCAA appearance in St. Louis.

Could it get any better than that?

Coach Heather Nelson's squad is particularly excited to be playing in St. Louis, since so many of the players are from St. Louis. Not only that, but the NCAA subregional game is close enough for a big show of support from SEMO soccer fans in Southeast Missouri.

Congratulations to the women's soccer team on its OVC tournament success. Let's hope you see plenty of Redhawk red at your first NCAA game Friday afternoon.
