One-of-a-kind holiday gift items can be found at the 11th annual Christmas Extravaganza scheduled for Nov. 17 to 19 near Jackson.

The best thing about the show is that proceeds from the event will benefit the Notre Dame Performing and Visual Arts Program, Operation Freedom Soldier Christmas packages, Toys for Tots and Christmas for the Elderly.

The event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 18 and 19 at the Bavarian Halle, Interstate 55 Exit 105.

A good portion of the items selected for sale are handmade. The event is all on ground level, with handicapped accessibility.

Specialty products include home-raised honey, pecans, walnuts, Grandma Metta's homemade divinity, brownies, fudge, cookies, sweet and salty caramel kettle corn, chocolate suckers and candy bouquets. Those looking for a different taste treat may want to try cajun dill pickled quail eggs.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see rag rug making, purchase tee shirts with selected designs or American Indian crafting supplies. Hand crafted items will also be available, plus Indian tea, hominy, wild rice, Indian fry bread mix and more. Personalized items are also available including "Stuff a Bear," complete with your own adoption papers.
