Gary E. Miller, 64, of Jackson died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at his home.

He was born March 2, 1942, in Pontiac, Ill., the son of James Lee and Sarah Jane Eads Miller. He and Sue Ellyn Pirtle were married on September 18, 1992, at Jackson.

He was employed by the Missouri State Board of Probation and Parole as a supervisor for over 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson. He was an avid golfer, and a member of Kimbeland and Bent Creek Golf Clubs. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Deana Lynn Burns of Branson, Mo., and Jamie Leigh Miller of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; a stepson, Kevin Harter of Farmington, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Valerie Doran of Columbia, Mo.; a sister, Betty Sears of Aurora, Ill.; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Friends may call at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Carter Frey will officiate, with burial will be at Marcus Memorial Cemetery, in Fredericktown, Mo.
