MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Edna Louise James, 92, of Marble Hill, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at Elder Care in Marble Hill.
She was born Dec. 10, 1913, in St. Louis, the daughter of Beda and Theresa Sagadin Kerlongo Jud. She and Warren James were married Aug. 11, 1958. He died June 29, 1991.
James worked as a secretary for the Faithful Words Publishing Co. for several years and was a member of the Marble Hill Bible Chapel Church. She and her husband were also early workers with the Set Free Prison Mininstry in Southeast Missouri.
Survivors include nine nephews, Bob Corbin of Irwin, Texas, William C. Corbin of Fayetteville, Ark., James D. Corbin of Redbud, Ill., Donald James of Farmington, Mo., Henry James of Goreville, Ill., Harold James of Zalma, Mo., William James of Doniphan, Mo., Norman James of Philadelphia and Dr. John Englehart of Marble Hill; and 13 nieces, Evelyn Taylor of Florida, Nedra Johnson, Gail Greer and Beverly McWilson, all of Marble Hill, Mary Lou Broyles of Sarasota, Fla., Maude H. Parker of Whitehouse, Texas, Mary Rendleman of Paradise, Calif., Martha Becker of Libertyville, Ill., Patricia VanMatre of Watson, Ill., Shirley Brzowski of Dyer, Ind., Charlotte Stanger of Santa Cruz, Calif., Barbara McDermott of Phoenix, Mary Cartwright of Richardson, Texas; and several great- and great-great-nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three nephews and one niece.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Baker Cemetery near Marble Hill. Dr. John Englehart, Harold James and Bob Clark will officiate.
Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill is in charge of arrangements.
