Funeral services for Mr. Donald VandeVen, 62, of St. Joseph, La., will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at 10 a.m., with Father Ferry D'Cruz and Father Michael officiating. Interment will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday, La.

Mr. VandeVen was born Jan. 3, 1944, in Lutesville, Mo., and passed away Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at Madison Hospital in Tallulah, La. He was a resident of St. Joseph, a farmer and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Adline Marie VandeVen, and a sister, Thelma Beel.

Survivors include wife, Patty VandeVen of St. Joseph; two sons, Darrell VandeVen and wife Amy of St. Joseph, Donnie VandeVen and wife Kristen of St. Joseph; three granddaughters, Anna Camille, Avery and Emma VandeVen, and two much anticipated grandchildren; his father, Irvin Jame VandeVen of Marble Hill, Mo.; two brothers, Stanley VandeVen and Roger VandeVen, both of Marble Hill; two sisters, Wilma Thiele and Glenda Myracle, both of Jackson, Mo.

Pallbearers will be Harry T. Goldman, III, Sandy Kelly, Coates and Walker Head, Chuck Tucker, John Day, Gerard Henry, and Chad Gielen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Tensas Academy in St. Joseph, La.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Young's Funeral Home.
