Speeding in park

DRIVING THROUGH Arena Park not long ago going 20 mph, like the signs say, with my son in the back seat, I was passed by a car. It happened again about two weeks later. The speed limit stays the same. Anyone in such a big hurry shouldn't go through the park. I don't know what these speeding motorists were thinking, but apparently it was only of themselves and not other people's children.

Unsafe walking

PEOPLE WHO jog and walk for fitness must not be intelligent. It makes no sense to walk or jog on the streets in the dark. Some people even wear dark clothing with no reflective material while walking or jogging before the sun comes up or after the sun has set.

Basic economics

TO THE person who said an increase in the minimum wage is an increase in the money supply that leads to inflation: You might want to brush up on your economics. An increase in wages isn't an artificial increase in the money supply. It's a reconfiguration of the existing money supply. Pretty basic.

An old issue

THE TRAFFIC issues with the Show Me Center have been going on for years. I remember back to the Aerosmith/Guns 'n' Roses concert in the summer of 1988. The traffic to the Show Me Center was backed up all the way to the Burger King on Broadway. This isn't new. Let's not skirt the issue and blame it on a wreck.

Eat what you hunt

HUNTING WILDLIFE keeps animals from dying a long and agonizing death from starvation. I have seen it in other states in protected lands. Officials had to open these areas to hunting due to the malnutrition of deer. If I hunt something, it isn't just for the sport. It puts food on our table. If I won't eat it, I won't hunt it. If you watched a video of a butcher shop, you would have a fit about that also.

Don't jump the gun

EVERYONE IS already attacking the new Democrat-controlled Congress, but the Democrats haven't even started working yet. Give them a chance to make some changes before complaining. I saw nothing good that occurred during the last couple of years in a Republican-controlled House and Senate. I am a blue-collar worker and don't have a lot of money. I guess if I had a lot of money, I would have loved the Republicans. The point is, don't start jumping the gun.

Planning time

TO THE parent who was concerned because his child's teacher was pumping gas during his planning time: Teachers are allowed to leave school during their planning time. As long as they are teaching and doing what they are supposed to, it is no one's business what they do on their planning time.
