To the editor:This is prompted by the Nov. 26 letter by Dr. Dorothy Munch concerning Cape Girardeau's very own Rush Limbaugh. I live outside of the area now, but when people ask me where I am originally from, the easiest way for people to identify with my location is to say, "Cape Girardeau, Missouri -- home to Rush Limbaugh."...

To the editor:This is prompted by the Nov. 26 letter by Dr. Dorothy Munch concerning Cape Girardeau's very own Rush Limbaugh. I live outside of the area now, but when people ask me where I am originally from, the easiest way for people to identify with my location is to say, "Cape Girardeau, Missouri -- home to Rush Limbaugh."

Dr. Munch said that she did not agree with stem-cell research but greatly admires Michael J. Fox. How you can have respect for someone speaking out in a blatant attack on former U.S. senator Jim Talent? Stem-cell research is legal. In 30 years embryonic stem-cell research has never proven successful.

She mentioned that Limbaugh's comments were cruel, but Fox put himself and his credentials on the line to be criticized. Limbaugh took him to task. In fact, Fox wrote in his 1999 book that he over-medicates at times to show the severity of his illness.

I have to disagree with Dr. Munch. Rush Limbaugh has brought honor to Cape Girardeau, as has the Limbaugh family. Limbaugh is well-liked, respected and tells it how it is to his million of listeners each day.
