Jean E. Blechle, 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Life Care Center. She was born Dec. 17, 1926, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of the late Fred and Velma Clark Blechle. Jean worked at the former Blechle Distributing Company. She then worked as a bookkeeper and secretary at the former Mineweld Company in Cape Girardeau, and was most recently employed with the Cape Girardeau School District as safety personnel for the handicapped school bus...

Jean E. Blechle, 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Life Care Center.

She was born Dec. 17, 1926, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of the late Fred and Velma Clark Blechle.

Jean worked at the former Blechle Distributing Company. She then worked as a bookkeeper and secretary at the former Mineweld Company in Cape Girardeau, and was most recently employed with the Cape Girardeau School District as safety personnel for the handicapped school bus.

She was a member of Order of Eastern Star 167, Order of the Amaranth Cape Court 14, and White Shrine of Jerusalem in Cape Girardeau.

She was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau, where she participated in fellowship committee activities.

Loving survivors include a brother, Glenwood (LaDonna) Blechle of Jackson; a nephew, Keith (Bonnie) Blechle of Jackson; a niece, Toni of Georgia; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Kabo Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Cape Girardeau.
