Martha Alice Vandivort, 61, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born June 15, 1945, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Mae Sanford Tanner. She married Sam Vandivort, who preceded her in death.

Vandivort was a graduate of the former College High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University.

She worked for the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department as a dispatcher.

Vandivort was a member of DAR, Missouri Emergency Management, League of Women Voters, Coast Guard Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and was active with the SEMO District Fair Association.

She was an amateur radio operator and was known to all CBers as "June Bug."

She is survived by a special friend, Steve; adopted family, Susan Lynn Krause McDowell of Jackson, Scott Edward Krause of Broken Arrow, Okla., Gerald Brian Krause of Atlanta, Ga., the children of Jean Krause Hinkle of Dongola, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating. Burial will be in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
