A northbound tractor-trailer overturned at about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 55 near the 91 mile marker, according to a Scott City police spokeswoman.

There were no injuries and no other vehicles were involved in the accident. It is unknown why the truck overturned, the spokeswoman said.

Police kept one northbound lane open until about 2 p.m., according to the police source, at which time both lanes were closed to allow a wrecking crew in to remove the truck.

Both lanes reopened about 3:30 p.m., the spokeswoman said.
