Aimee Renea Bittle and Paul Matthew Cairns were united in marriage Aug. 16, 2003, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Barry Pfanstiel performed the ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Jerry and Carla Bittle and Rich and Lynne Cairns, all of Cape Girardeau.
Maids of honor were Tobie and Lorie Bittle of Cape Girardeau, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Alison Rademaker and Wendy Lovelady of Cape Girardeau, and Julie Koch of St. Louis.
John Hillin of Cape Girardeau was best man. Groomsmen were David Haydel Jr. of Gonzales, La., Brian Ridenour of Dallas, Texas, Tom Stuhldreher of Arlington, Va., and Erik Fleming of Philadelphia, Pa. Usher was Jeff Brune of Cape Girardeau.
Candlelighters were Sarah Powell of DuQuoin, Ill., and Sage Burgener of Bonsal, Calif., cousins of the bride.
Guest book attendants were Amy Cairns of Cape Girardeau, sister of the groom, and Rebecca Powell of DuQuoin, cousin of the bride.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Drury Lodge.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Aug. 15 at Cape Girardeau Country Club.
Mrs. Cairns is a 1995 graduate of Central High School. She received a master's degree in physical therapy from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2001. She is an inpatient physical therapist at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
The groom is a 1992 graduate of Central High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in management from Tulane University, and is pursuing a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.
After a wedding trip to Aruba, the couple is residing in Cambridge, Mass.
