SEMO District Fair: Entertainment still unconfirmed

The words on the SEMO District Fair marquee at the entrance of Arena Park say "Yes they are coming to the fair."

But SEMO District Fair Board President Pete Poe said the ambiguous phrase isn't in reference to REO Speedwagon, the classic rock band that has been rumored for weeks to be booked for the September Fair. Instead, Poe said the sign references a rodeo on Sept. 10.

REO Speedwagon's official Web site, www.speedwagon.com, lists a Sept. 14 gig at the fair. The Web site of country singer/songwriter Pat Green also lists a gig at the fair, Sept. 15. Poe said he could not confirm whether or not Green will perform at the fair, either.
