Timothy Schwent of Jackson received the Roger Latham Service Award for his service to the National Wild Turkey Federation. He was presented with the honor during the NWTF's 31st annual convention in Nashville, Tenn., for his contributions to wild turkey conservation.

Schwent has been a member of NWTF since 1984, serving the Cape Girardeau's Bootheel Boss Gobblers as secretary/treasurer for more than 12 years and also serving as president.

He has been on the annual Hunting Heritage Banquet committee for 23 years, including six years as banquet chairman.

He served the state chapter as the treasurer of the board of directors for six years.

Schwent currently is a volunteer NWTF District Director for Southeast Missouri and has organized seven new chapters in five years.
