Central pitchers Justin Myers and Tyler Propst combined to two-hit visiting Potosi on Monday in a 4-0 shutout.

Myers threw the first five innings and allowed two hits without a walk. Propst pitched the final two hitless innings with two strikeouts and two walks.

"He really threw the ball well today," Central coach Steve Williams said of Myers. "Having thrown Friday, I was a little worried, but both he and Tyler threw very good."

Brad LaBruyere went 2-for-2 with a walk to lead Central's balanced offense. Alex Shell, Garrett Stevens and LaBruyere had RBIs.

Chaffee grabbed the lead for good with two runs in the fifth and broke things open with a seven-run seventh for a road win.

Josh Steger had two hits for the Red Devils (7-3), and Adam Uhrhan improved to 4-0 on the mound.

Blake Dirnberger had three hits for Scott City, and Rynn Eskew added a pair of triples.

Dylan Drury had a perfect day at the plate with two home runs, a double, four runs scored and four RBIs for the Bulldogs.

Mark Himmelberg allowed three hits, struck out six and walked two for the win. Himmelberg, Abe Dirnberger, and Blake Gaddis added two hits apiece for Notre Dame.

The Bulldogs improved to 4-4 and 2-1 in the SEMO Conference.

Jackson's T.J. Smith was three strokes off the lead at the 13-team Poplar Bluff Invitational at Westwood Hills Country Club.

Brian Steele and Nathan Frederick of Glendale shared medalist honors with a 1-over-par 71. Smith tied for third with a 74.

Glendale won the event with a 300, followed by Poplar Bluff (303). Jackson was fourth (335), Notre Dame sixth (349) and Central eighth (354).
