Clara Goeddel Feldmeier, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born April 7, 1914, in St. Louis, daughter of Louis H. and Ida W. Nobbe Goeddel. She and Robert L. Feldmeier were married Nov. 11, 1939, in Waterloo, Ill.

She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and its Friendship and Mary Martha Circles.

Mrs. Feldmeier received a teaching certificate from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Monroe County, Ill., prior to her marriage.

Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Feldmeier of Cape Girardeau; a son, James R. Feldmeier of Portageville; a daughter, Jane F. Harte and husband Tom of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Thomas Harte Jr. and wife Leah Fulton Harte of Los Angeles, Calif.; Jill Gaither and husband Brett of St. Louis; a great-grandchild, Chloe Gaither; and a niece, Leslie Lockard and husband Palmer of Palmyra, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Esther Goeddel and Laura Sefried.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dan Johnson officiating. Burial will be Friday in Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo, Ill.

Memorials may be made to Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation, Southeast Hospice or Evangelical United Church of Christ.
