Valle (2-1) at Scott City (1-2)

Last week: East Prairie 34, Scott City 7; Valle 28, St. Pius 14

Last year: Valle 50, Scott City 13

Notes: The Rams' offense has fallen flat after a 27 point outburst in their opener. Scott City was held to three points against Portageville and managed only a touchdown against East Prairie. Matt Schaefer rushed for 135 yards against the Eagles and has averaged over 100 yards a game this season. Quarterback Luke McClellan went 4-of-8 against East Prairie but had two interceptions. Ryan Glastetter remains McClellan's favorite target with eight catches in the past two games. Scott City's rush defense has struggled against two run-oriented teams the past two games. The Eagles burned Scott City for more than 300 yards rushing and Portageville had more than 200 yards on the ground. Valle quarterback Patrick Odneal has thrown for more than 100 yards in all three games and had a career-high 217 against St. Pius. Jay Pope has two straight 100-yard receiving games. Valle leads the all-time series 5-1.

Perryville (0-3) at Farmington (0-3)

Last week: North County 62, Perryville 14; NMCC 26, Farmington 17

Last year: Farmington 8, Perryville 7

Notes: Perryville is coming off a pair of lopsided losses to state-ranked teams Ste. Genevieve and North County. The Pirates' offense has shown signs of life and is led by quarterback Corey Buerck. Buerck threw for two touchdowns against North County, and the Pirates had a total of 202 yards offensively. Perryville turned the ball over four times last week and has had problems with penalties and turnovers in its three losses. Farmington has played close the past two weeks, leading 17-6 at halftime against NMCC and leading into the fourth quarter against Bethalto (Ill.) Civic Memorial.

Last week: St. Vincent 34, Potosi 0; Cuba 21, Grandview 0

Last year: St. Vincent 45, Grandview 20

Notes: The Indians' offense awakened against Potosi last week after a pair of low-scoring games to open the season. Kyle Kline leads the team in rushing, and Chad Lane is the top passer. Kline ran for 173 yards in the Indians' win over Potosi. St. Vincent ran for 290 yards last week. Lane threw for 77 yards on six completions. Grandview's only win came in its opener against Chaffee. The Bulldogs have scored 22 points in three games. Grandview's offense relies on the running game with only four completed passes all season. Jacob Laubenthal is Grandview's leading rusher with 232 yards, and Brandon Lawson is second with 165. Grandview was held to 118 yards against Cuba last Friday and did not complete a pass.

Chaffee (0-3) at Portageville (2-0), Sat.

Last week: Crystal City 41, Chaffee 0; Portageville 40, Fulton Co. (Ky.) 21

Last year: Portageville 46, Chaffee 6

Nick Powderly has produced much of Chaffee's offense and leads the team in receiving and rushing. Jeff Daugherty has averaged close to 80 yards passing a game. Portageville runs a wishbone-type offense with three-back sets and little passing. The Bulldogs attempted only four passes against Scott City.
