Inez N. Rainwater, 96, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at Lifecare Center. She was born Dec. 2, 1906, in Missouri, daughter of William and Mollie Belle Eads Ward. She and Herbert G. Inez N. Rainwater, 96, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at Lifecare Center.

She was born Dec. 2, 1906, in Missouri, daughter of William and Mollie Belle Eads Ward. She and Herbert G. Rainwater were married April 20, 1924, in Wayne County, Mo. He preceded her in death in September 1974.

Mrs. Rainwater moved to Cape Girardeau in 1962 from Wayne County. She was a past member of New Prospect General Baptist Church at Silva, Mo., until 1962, and then joined First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. She was very active in the J.O.Y. Group and quilting clubs. She was a past school teacher in Wayne County.

Survivors include two daughters, Maxine Smith of Jackson, Georganne Jo Pierce of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Freda Leach of Silva; seven grandchildren, C.W. Hughey of Grapevine, Texas, Sonja Davis of Jackson, Dean Million of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Steve Million of Kansas City, Mo., Robin Dyer of Tulsa, Okla., Kevin Smith of Valles Mines, Mo., Boot Pierce of Bourbon, Mo.; 19 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn Million; her parents, two brothers, and two half brothers.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Ramdial and the Rev. Dan Ross officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in honor of Rayni Worley.
