CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Adria Anne Meyr, 23, of Chaffee died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Va. She was born April 27, 1980, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Glen M. and Corliss Grossheider Meyr. As a youth she was active in scouting, 4-H, school activities and community sports. CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Adria Anne Meyr, 23, of Chaffee died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Va.

She was born April 27, 1980, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Glen M. and Corliss Grossheider Meyr.

As a youth she was active in scouting, 4-H, school activities and community sports. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chaffee and church youth group.

She graduated from Chaffee High School in 1998, where she participated in tennis, basketball, softball, drill team, cheerleading, and band. She was a member of many clubs, including FBLA, FHA, French Club, Varsity Club, Beta Club, BEC, TOAD, Pep Club, Student Council, and was chosen Spirit Leader in 1998. She was an honor student.

Adria graduated in May 2003 from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield with a bachelor of science in recreation and leisure studies. She was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority, Recreation and Leisure Studies Association, MPRA, and NPRA. She was on the dean's list.

She was employed in retail sales and by parks departments in the cities of Chaffee and Union, Mo. She was a St. Louis County Parks intern, and currently a conference and education assistant intern for National Recreation and Park Association in Ashburn, Va.

Her loving survivors include parents; paternal grandmother, Gertrude Meyr of Chaffee; maternal grandmother, Wilma Grossheider of Gordonville; two sisters, Lori Perry of St. Louis, Callie Meyr of Chaffee; and a brother-in-law, Daniel Perry of St. Louis.

Visitation will be at 4 p.m. today and Sunday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, and Sunday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Highway 25, in Gordonville.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
